For schools, colleges and tutors

GCSEwiz for schools is on its way

Students already use GCSEwiz on their own to practise and revise for their GCSEs. We’re now building a version for teachers and tutors to use with a class or a group. Tell us about your school and we’ll let you know when it’s ready. We’re also looking for a few schools to try it early.

What students get today

  • Practice that adapts

Original GCSE-style questions in 18 subjects. The difficulty follows each student’s answers, from a gentle warm-up to the hardest questions in the topic.

  • Marking with the working

Multiple-choice and short answers are marked the moment they are given, against a checked answer, with the working step by step. Written answers are marked against the assessment objectives, with the next step to take.

  • Mock papers

Timed mock papers laid out like the exam boards’ own, marked with a result for each topic, so a student can see where the marks went.

  • Reports a teacher can read

A student can share a read-only progress report written for a teacher: every topic in specification order, where it stood four weeks ago and where it stands now, their board and tier, and their mock paper marks.

What we’re building for schools

Today each student has an account of their own. The next step is a version that a teacher or tutor uses with their students, and we would rather build it around what you need than guess. The form below asks which of these you would use:

  • See how each student is doing, topic by topic
  • Set practice for a class or group
  • Spot who needs extra help, and on what
  • Run mock exams under exam conditions
  • Share progress reports with parents
  • Pay once for all our students
  • Let students sign in with school Google or Microsoft accounts

None of these is built yet. Register, and you’ll hear from us as they are.

Try it early

We’re looking for a small number of schools, colleges and tutors to use it with their students before it opens to everyone, and to tell us honestly what works and what doesn’t. A mix helps: different kinds of school, different subjects and boards, large groups and small ones.

Tick the box on the form if you’d like to be one of them. We’ll get in touch to talk it through first, and there’s no commitment.

Your students’ privacy

Most of the people who use GCSEwiz are under 18, and it is built for them. Everything starts private, a student’s name appears in public only if they choose it, we never sell data or show adverts, and an adult sets up any payment. Read our privacy policy
