Terms of Service

Everyone has their own account, and the person who creates it owns it. You must be at least 13 to create an account yourself; a parent or carer can create one for a younger learner and use it with them. Setting up the subscription payment is the one step that requires an adult (18 or over) who is authorised to use the payment method, because paying for the subscription is the adult’s decision to make.

Keep your login details secure and don't share them. Give accurate information and keep it up to date. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.

• Every account starts on the regular plan: 50 practice questions a week, counted from Monday to Sunday (UK time), with no payment details needed and no time limit. An account that was given a free trial keeps it until the date shown on its account page; no payment is taken during a trial, and you can cancel before it ends without being charged.
• The premium plan is £19.99 per month, paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. The payment must be set up and authorised by an adult (18 or over) who is authorised to use the payment method.
• From time to time we may run a limited time offer: the premium plan at a lower price, shown on our pricing page and at checkout. If you subscribe while it runs, you keep that price for as long as your subscription continues, including after the offer ends for new subscribers. If your subscription ends and you subscribe again later, the price at that time applies.
• A valid discount code gives you the premium plan free for a set time, at no charge and with nothing to cancel. Each account can redeem one code. When the free period ends your account returns to the regular plan, and you can subscribe then if you want to carry on with premium.
• Every subscription covers every subject and is paid monthly. We never change the amount of a subscription already set up without telling you first.
• You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with reasonable notice; the price shown at checkout is what applies to you. Your statutory rights always apply.

Please use GCSEwiz for its purpose - personal study and revision - and don’t:

• copy, scrape, resell or redistribute our questions, content or software;
• reverse-engineer or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• submit unlawful, harmful or offensive material in written answers or uploaded photos; or
• use the service in a way that infringes others' rights or breaks the law.

The one place on GCSEwiz where something you write is shown to other people is the activity feed on our home page, and only if you choose to show your name there. Your avatar is made from parts we drew, so it isn’t something you upload.

A name on the feed must not:

• be rude, hateful, threatening or upsetting;
• be used to bully or make fun of anyone;
• pretend to be someone else; or
• give away personal details, such as a surname with a school, an address or a phone number.

We check every name when it is saved and refuse the worst ones. Anyone can report a name on the feed using the flag beside it, whether or not they have an account, and nobody is told who sent a report. We look at reports, usually within a day, and take a name off the feed if it breaks these rules. If we take your name off the feed, your account page says why, and you can ask us to look again; someone who did not make the first decision looks at it where we can. We keep a record of reports and what we did about them.

If you’re unhappy with how we handled a report or a decision, or want to complain about anything to do with keeping GCSEwiz safe, email [email protected]. A named person on our team is responsible for keeping children safe on the service. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the authorities.

GCSEwiz is a revision aid, not a substitute for school, a teacher, or the exam boards. Our questions are GCSE-style original questions we write ourselves - not real past exam questions. Any grade or readiness figure we show is an estimate to guide revision, not an official grade or a prediction of exam results. We don't guarantee any particular outcome.

The questions, content, design and software are owned by Syllabuswiz Ltd or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own study while your account is active. Your own answers remain yours.

We work hard to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or withdraw features to improve the product; where a change materially affects you, we'll give reasonable notice.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for exam results or other outcomes, or for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from your use of the service.

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or to protect the service and its users. On closure, your right to use the service stops; data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
