Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of GCSEwiz (gcsewiz.com), a Syllabus Wiz service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Who can use the service
Everyone has their own account, and the person who creates it owns it. You must be at least 13 to create an account yourself; a parent or carer can create one for a younger learner and use it with them. Setting up the subscription payment is the one step that requires an adult (18 or over) who is authorised to use the payment method, because paying for the subscription is the adult’s decision to make.
Your account
Keep your login details secure and don't share them. Give accurate information and keep it up to date. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
Subscriptions and payment
- Every account starts with a free trial of at least 14 days - a current offer may give you longer, and the exact length is shown when you sign up and on your account page. No payment is taken during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends without being charged.
- After the trial, the subscription is £19.99 per month, paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. The payment must be set up and authorised by an adult (18 or over) who is authorised to use the payment method.
- A valid discount code may reduce what you pay; each account can redeem one code. A discount code and referral credit can both apply to the same account: the code reduces your subscription price, and any referral credit then comes off your payments on top.
- When someone you refer starts their own subscription, you and they each get £10 of credit, applied automatically against your future payments, and there is no limit on how many friends you can refer. Referral credit is promotional: it can only be used towards payments on our services, has no cash value, and cannot be transferred, exchanged or paid out. We keep any unused credit for as long as your account stays open; it is not lost through time, but it does end if your account closes.
- Every subscription covers every subject, paid monthly or yearly - you choose which. Switching between them changes what you pay from the next collection onwards; we never change the amount of a Direct Debit already set up without telling you first.
- On a yearly plan we collect one payment covering the twelve months ahead, and we always email an adult before each collection. If you cancel a yearly plan within 14 days of it starting and haven’t used the paid features, we’ll refund it in full; after that we refund the unused whole months on request. A refund returns what was actually paid, so any promotional credit used towards a payment is not refunded as cash. This is in addition to your statutory rights, which always apply.
- You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with reasonable notice; the price shown at checkout is what applies to you.
Acceptable use
Please use GCSEwiz for its purpose - personal study and revision - and don’t:
- copy, scrape, resell or redistribute our questions, content or software;
- reverse-engineer or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service;
- submit unlawful, harmful or offensive material in written answers or uploaded photos; or
- use the service in a way that infringes others' rights or breaks the law.
What our practice tools are (and aren't)
GCSEwiz is a revision aid, not a substitute for school, a teacher, or the exam boards. Our questions are GCSE-style original questions we write ourselves - not real past exam questions. Any grade or readiness figure we show is an estimate to guide revision, not an official grade or a prediction of exam results. We don't guarantee any particular outcome.
Intellectual property
The questions, content, design and software are owned by Syllabus Wiz or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own study while your account is active. Your own answers remain yours.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or withdraw features to improve the product; where a change materially affects you, we'll give reasonable notice.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for exam results or other outcomes, or for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from your use of the service.
Ending your use
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or to protect the service and its users. On closure, your right to use the service stops; data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions? Email [email protected].
